The History of HDG
Meet Dr. Andrew Henritze, a native of Roanoke, Virginia, and a distinguished graduate from Virginia Tech and the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University.
What began as a single practice in 1997 evolved into a remarkable story of growth and success. In 2017, recognizing the need for change, Dr. Henritze envisioned expanding beyond a traditional dental practice. Collaborating with colleagues, the vision for Henritze Dental Group (HDG) took shape. With dedication and perseverance, HDG transitioned from a single location in 2018 to an impressive network of twelve locations in Southwest Virginia within a few years.
Dr. Henritze’s passion for providing exceptional dental care fueled HDG’s growth, offering comprehensive services and elevating the patient experience. The commitment to serving the community remains unwavering, and Dr. Henritze takes immense pride in HDG’s success, humbled by the opportunity to serve Southwest Virginia. Meet our Doctors
Dr. Andrew Henritze
Dr. Henritze, a proud Roanoke native, achieved academic excellence at Virginia Tech and the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University, graduating cum laude. Following a comprehensive dental residency at the University of Florida, he returned to Roanoke in 1997, establishing his esteemed private practice. Currently, he leads the thriving Henritze Dental Group, embodying a commitment to excellence in dental care.
Dr. Bradley Oliver
Dr. Oliver is a Roanoke native who brings a wealth of knowledge and top-level experience to our family practice. To improve his skills and stay up-to-date on the latest research and techniques in restorative, cosmetic, and implant dentistry, Dr. Oliver prides himself on taking regular continuing education courses. Dr. Oliver earned his undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology (this helps explain his pleasant chairside manner) and is a distinguished graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore.
Dr. E. Lynn Copeland
Dr. E. Lynn Copeland is a general dentist that previously worked for a Dental Sleep Center and became passionate about helping patients suffering from Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). “I was able to see firsthand how treating the airway gave patients their lives back.” After helping establish a Sleep Apnea program for five dental offices in the Charleston, SC area, “I feel so blessed to partner with a dental group as passionate about helping patients as I am. Henritze Dental Group has invested in the best, most up-to-date equipment to aid in treating OSA. By utilizing such equipment, the optimal jaw position is determined; therefore, the results are repeatable and reliable for appliance therapy.”
Dr. Evan Reynolds
Dr. Reynolds grew up in East Tennessee. He graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Mathematics and obtained his dental degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 2014. Following graduation and his desire to provide care to the underserved, Dr. Reynolds moved to central Missouri to practice in a public health clinic where he has practiced since. Dr. Reynolds is passionate about helping people with their dental needs, whether that is getting someone out of pain, improving a smile, or just doing his best to help improve someone’s oral health in a warm and understanding environment. When Dr. Reynolds is outside of the office, he enjoys fishing, hiking, jamming out to live music, and cheering on his ill-fated Vanderbilt Commodores.
Dr. Fawzia Bhavnagri Bennett
Originally from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Fawzia Bennett completed her Health Sciences B.S from James Madison University and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from VCU’s School of Dentistry. Following marriage, Dr. Bennett moved her home and began her family in Roanoke and the Roanoke Valley. She understands the impact oral health has on a patient’s self-esteem at any age and prides herself on helping patients feel at ease in the dental chair. To advance her knowledge in the dental field, Dr. Bennett attends continuing education courses and remains an active member of the dental community through local, state, and national dental organizations. When she is not working, Dr. Bennett can be found devoting time to her husband and two energetic little boys. She also enjoys art, traveling, reading, exploring the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Gregory Skinner
Dr. Gregory P. Skinner is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. His wife is a native of the Roanoke area, and they have identified the Roanoke Valley as home for the past 17 years. It has been a great place to raise their four daughters.
As member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Skinner is dedicated to being an exceptional dental care provider and is passionate about using his abilities and blessings to provide services for those who do not have access to dental care. He has conducted multiple dental clinics in Haiti, as well as serving families in remote regions of Panama. In 2018, Dr. Skinner became a founding board member of Just Have Faith International, a nonprofit organization committed to bringing healthcare and education to under-served adults and children in Haiti. When he isn’t working, Dr Skinner enjoys running, hiking and fishing.
Dr. Hannah Ehreth
Dr. Hannah Ehreth, a Centreville, VA native, graduated with honors from Virginia Tech with a BS in Biology. She obtained her DDS degree from VCU School of Dentistry in 2020 in accordance with induction into Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honors Society. She completed her general practice residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ and continues to be an active member of the ADA, VDA and AGD, working toward her AGD fellowship. Dr Ehreth is grateful to be able to serve those in the Rocky Mount community in all aspects of dental treatment and hopes to continue service to members of the community as well as those with special health care needs like Autism.
When not in the Rocky Mount office, Dr. Ehreth enjoys spending her free time hiking, exploring and doing yoga. As the oldest of four children, she enjoys returning to spend time with her three younger brothers at her family’s farm in Rixeyville, VA.
Dr. Hansol Kim
Dr. Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea, and later moved to Hickory, North Carolina. He completed his undergraduate studies at Temple University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Kim continued his studies at Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree with the highest honors, Summa Cum Laude. During his time at the dental school, he was honored with the prestigious William Goldman Foundation Scholarship in recognition of his outstanding academic achievements.
Beyond his professional life, Dr. Kim has served as a sergeant in the Republic of Korea Army, demonstrating strong leadership and teamwork skills. During his free time, he enjoys an active lifestyle with interests in basketball, playing the guitar, snowboarding, and fishing.
Dr. J. Peyton Moore
Dr. Moore has practiced dentistry in Martinsville and Henry County since 1989. Prior to this he served in the United States Air Force Dental Corps at the rank of Captain. He is a graduate of the Medical College Of Virginia School of Dentistry, A Master of the Academy of General Dentistry, and The International Congress Of Oral Implantologist.
He received the Dental Hero Award for his service at the Community Dental Clinic by the Piedmont Virginia Dental Health Foundation, and was declared the Outstanding Alumnus of Central Virginia Community College in 1995.
Dr. Janet French
Dr. Janet French graduated from MCV-VCU School of Dentistry in 1997 following more than a decade practicing as a registered critical care nurse. Dr. Janet has practiced dentistry in the New River Valley since 2007. Prior to coming to the New River Valley, she had two family dentistry offices in northern Virginia.
She has three children and several grandchildren. She resides in Floyd county on her horse farm. Horseback riding and camping in our beautiful mountains and the Jefferson National Forest is her favorite hobby.
Dr. John Fitzgerald
Dr. Fitzgerald is a graduate of the VCU School of Dentistry in Richmond where he was also inducted in the dental honor society. He earned his undergraduate degree at Hampden-Sydney College with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and minors in Biology and Public Service and his AEGD at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Fitzgerald grew up outside Richmond in Midlothian, VA. He comes from a medical family; his mother is a dentist, his father a pharmacist, and has two siblings in nursing. In his spare time, he loves the outdoors and spends time hunting, fishing and golfing.
Dr. Kelly Golden
Dr. Golden was born and raised in Amherst County, VA. He graduated in 1985 and enlisted in the United States Navy where he was a Steelworker in the Seabees. After active duty, he remained in the U.S. Naval Reserves thru college. He completed his undergraduate studies at Holy Cross Catholic School University and graduated from Medical College of Virginia/VCU School of Dentistry in 1997. After dental school, Dr. Golden joined his father, Dr. Thomas Golden, in the practice he started in 1965. He is an active member of The Virginia Dental Association, American Dental Association, Virginia Academy of Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry as well as local and international study clubs. Dr. Golden has completed over 500 hours of continuing education in the various aspects of dentistry. He is currently pursuing a fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. He met his wife, Wendy, in college, and they have 3 children, Noah, Lynley and Haden.
Dr. Michael Board
Dr. Michael Board was born and raised in Roanoke, VA. He graduated from Hidden Valley High School and Roanoke Valley Governor’s School in 2010. Coming from an all Hokie family, he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a minor in Chemistry at Virginia Tech in 2014. He continued his education and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in 2019 where he was inducted into the dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Following dental school, Dr. Board continued his education with a year of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at Virginia Commonwealth University and Emory University.
Dr. Board has a love for general dentistry and demonstrated strengths in oral surgery and oral pathology.
Dr. Risa Clark
Dr. Risa Clark holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from James Madison University and a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. After graduating, she became a staff dentist with Piedmont Virginia Dental Health Foundation in Martinsville, Virginia. During her five-year tenure there, she served in a variety of leadership roles. More recently, Dr. Clark was in private practice as an associate dentist in Lebanon, Virginia. She and her husband enjoy raising their daughter and son in Henry County.
Dr. Richard Newton
Dr. Richard Newton is a Roanoke College alumnus who has lived in Roanoke for more than 60 years. He enjoys interacting with his patients and being involved with their overall health. After 34 years of practicing in various settings, he still has a passion for dentistry and enjoys coming to work each day. When he’s not in the office, he might be found behind the wheel of one of his three classic cars or spending time with his two dogs, a black German Shepherd named Otto and a Great Dane named Howie.
Dr. Ryan Hutton
Dr. Hutton, a Southwest Virginia native, attended Virginia Tech for his undergraduate education. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, where he was awarded the Southeastern Academy of Prosthodontics Award for Excellence in Prosthodontics.
When Dr. Hutton is outside of the office, he and his wife enjoy traveling, golfing, and supporting the Hokies across multiple sports.
Dr. Steven Anama
Dr. Steven Anama has an undergraduate BS in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University. He received his DDS degree from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia, School of Dentistry. Since 1996, he has practiced in various dental offices in the Greater Roanoke Valley and finally, settled into his current office in the year 2000.
Dr. Anama is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Virginia Dental Association (VDA), and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD).
He is an active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. He enjoys playing golf, tennis, and church softball. He is an avid sports fan, especially Men’s College Basketball. He loves the beach, but most of all, he enjoys the time spent with his wife and 3 children.
